How can I let a department or team member see only their own contacts?
Votel does not have a department object or row-level department security. Permissions are role based, so you get there by combining custom fields, saved views and roles:
- Create a custom field on contacts, such as Department.
- Build a saved view for each department that filters on that field (for example Department equals Manual Review).
- Go to Settings, then Team users, then Roles, and turn on the option that lets the role see only assigned contacts.
- Assign each contact to the right department's users as the assignee. Users with that role then only see their department's contacts.
